Crankshaft main bearing cap stud, outer (M10)
Torque-to-yield. This fastener is tightened past its elastic limit and permanently stretches. Always install a new one — a reused TTY bolt will not clamp to spec.
Tightening procedure
- Torque 15 lb-ft · 20 N·m
- Angle 51°
Complete the passes in the order shown. Angle passes are turn-of-the-nut steps measured with an angle gauge after the preceding torque pass.
Tools
- 15mm socket
- angle gauge
Notes
Final angle differs slightly between sources (GM 51 degrees, Michigan 53 degrees); both stored. Confirm against an authoritative copy before publishing.
